Tucked away on rue Monge in the 5th arrondissement, Eileen is a thrift shop that fully embraces its own chaos. There are no neatly aligned rails here, no collections carefully sorted by colour — clothes pile up haphazardly, and that is precisely the appeal. For patient hunters, it is ideal territory: dresses, skirts, boots, caps, and unisex t-shirts from different decades sit side by side in joyful disorder. Prices start at 4€ and rarely exceed 28€, making it a particular favourite among Latin Quarter students and budget-conscious shoppers unwilling to compromise on style.
The golden rule for success: allow several hours, abandon any sense of urgency, and be prepared to dig. Good pieces do exist here — they simply require a little effort to find. A raw, unpretentious address that recalls what thrifting was before it became fashionable.
